Grapevine (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an Australian environmental events directory at grapevineau.com. This page explains what we collect and why, and your choices.
What we collect
- Basic analytics (Google Analytics 4) — page views, device/browser info, approximate location (city/country), and referrers. We don’t use GA’s precise location or advertising features.
- Event submissions — whatever you type into the event form (title, dates/times, location, contact details, links, images). This is used to review and publish your event.
- Contact — if you email us, we’ll receive your email address and message.
- Server logs — standard web logs (IP address, user-agent, pages requested) for security and troubleshooting.
What we don’t collect
- No account sign-ups or passwords.
- No selling of personal data.
- No third-party ad networks.
How we use your information
- To operate and improve the site (usage stats, debugging).
- To review, publish, edit, and display event listings you submit.
- To respond to enquiries you send us.
- To protect the site (fraud/abuse prevention, security).
Legal basis
For Australian users, we aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). For international visitors, our basis is legitimate interests in running a community events directory.
Retention
- Analytics data — retained by Google per GA4 defaults.
- Event submissions — kept while the event is active and for reasonable backup/archival periods.
- Emails — kept as long as needed to respond and maintain records.
Sharing
We don’t sell personal data. We may share data with service providers solely to run the site (e.g., hosting at Hostinger, analytics by Google). Event details you submit are intended for public display on the website.

Your rights
You can request access, correction, or removal of your event listing or personal information we hold about you. We may need to verify your identity to act on a request.

We use HTTPS and standard security practices. No method is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect information.
